I bought this mouse after reading multiple reviews (esp the bad ones)and the reviews were right about everything about this mouse. But if you keep things in perspective, then this mouse should not get such bad ratings. Lets take a look at some of the key features of this mouse:
Battery Life:
But all those people who gave this a 1 star or 2 star had wrong expectations. Battery life is actually few days depending upon the usage. I use this mouse for almost 12-14 hours a day and it goes without a charge for 3-4 days. Thats ok considering that this is a desktop mouse using a very new technology which helps it to work in all surfaces.
Ergonomics:
Its an amazingly comfortable mouse. The mouse that i had used before just felt like a piece of plastic in my hand. They never aided to my comfort. Holding this mouse feels as natural as holding your lover's hand. Its comfy and nice. It never feel like you're holding a cheap mouse. If you pick the mouse up, then you'll find that this is actually a very heavy mouse. But when this is used on a desk, it glides and you'll forget about the weight of the mouse.
Build Quality:
Solid as hell. I've dropped it twice and nothing happened. It didnt even get scratched.
Functionality:
The hidden thumb button is neat and clicking is soft. I would have liked the forward and back buttons to be positioned a little higher, but I am getting used to it. Scrolling is amazing for this. Just click the center button over the mouse wheel and the scroll wheel goes free. The only grouse that i have with this mouse is that the middle click does not work always as it should. It will only work fine if it is pressed from the center top of the wheel. But as i rarely use the middle click, its not a problem for me.
Logitech also provides a software to map the functions of all the mouse buttons which greatly enhances the functionality of this mouse.
Battery indicators light up momentarily when the mouse is used after a gap of few minutes. This helps preserve the precious battery.
All in all its a good buy for $50 (Including the rebate and discounts)
